"I'm very pleased to have completed the process of becoming a broker," said Lee Konowe, president, co-founder and CEO of Reston Homes. "Having a principal broker who is also an owner of the corporation allows for potentially unlimited expansion of our company's activities throughout the state." Every real estate agency licensed in Virginia is required to have a principal broker on site responsible for the activities of all associate brokers, managing brokers and licensed salespersons. The curriculum covers four major content areas: brokerage, real estate law, real estate appraisal and financial principles. Associated with each subject is a comprehensive exam. Upon successful completion of these four tests, would-be brokers are then required to take national licensing and Virginia state law exams.
