It is very important for prospective buyers to understand
the current market in and around Reston.


As Reston is fully "built out" in terms of residential homes, buyers are limited to resale homes only (new homes are available in surrounding communities). With more than 6,000 new jobs coming to Reston in the next 12 months, it should be no shock that prices are increasing rapidly and that these increases are expected to continue for the next several years. To substantiate this, just examine the table below. As you can see for yourself, there was a 11.3% increase in just the first six months of 2004 and that was followed by a 12% increase in the last half of the year!
